Beautiful Art Deco satin glass shade from 1920s, signed Degué.
The model number 554 is also signed on the rim. The model was listed in the catalogue Fournitures Electriques 1935 “Etablissements RénoveX” Art Déco Lampes Bronze Verrerie catalog. The condition is excellent, there is no marks or damages on the glass.
The glass artist, David Guéron, who produced his art glass at glassworks de Compiègne, a city close to Paris, before specializing in luxury glassware. When he started his own artful glass design branded “Degué” he was finally appreciated by the public and since today is well appreciated by lovers of Art Deco. The start of Second World War put an end of “Verrerie D’Art Degué” and forced Guéron to shut down the factory in 1939. David Guéron left France for the United States during the war period.
This particular glass shade is glossy.
